What are Restylane dermal fillers?

Numerous companies in the market specialize in producing and supplying dermal fillers, and among these, Restylane stands out as a premier brand. Restylane is distinguished by its FDA approval and is primarily composed of hyaluronic acid, presenting itself in the form of a transparent gel. When administered through injections, Restylane excels at providing added fullness and volume, further augmenting the body's natural hyaluronic acid production. Our utilization of Restylane, in conjunction with other fillers, is instrumental in addressing specific wrinkles, which ultimately results in a more youthful appearance.

This particular filler specifically targets medium to severe-depth wrinkles at the dermal layer, focusing on:

  • Nasolabial folds, often referred to as smile lines, which extend from the nose to the mouth.

  • Marionette Lines, the lines commencing at the mouth and extending down to the chin.

  • The corners of your mouth, addressing those small wrinkles that become more pronounced when smiling or laughing.

Restylane Fillers excel in the following areas:

  • Diminishing deep facial lines.

  • Reinstating volume to the face.

  • Smoothing out the appearance of acne scars.

  • Enhancing the fullness of lips.

  • Correcting under-eye hollows.

  • Offering hand rejuvenation.

It is noteworthy that Restylane boasts an impressive 95% satisfaction rate and has the potential to maintain its effects for more than a year following the initial injection.

No one size fits all: The different brands of Restylane.

You should familiarize yourself with several distinct Restylane products. The original Restylane variant is the pioneering dermal filler designed primarily for addressing nasolabial folds, and it also contributes to enhancing lip fullness. There are a few more different Restylane products you should know.

Restylane-L

Restylane-L is the same original Restylane formula with 0.3% Lidocaine. Lidocaine is a common anesthetic that helps numb the pain and discomfort during the procedure. Restylane-L may also help with subsequent inflammation, which means you’ll see results a bit faster.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne is designed to address laugh lines, offering a solution that shares the fundamental components of Restylane-L while incorporating its exclusive XpresHAn Technology™. This innovation enhances the gel's consistency and application, resulting in a swift, natural-looking effect. It's not unusual for dermatologists to opt for Restylane Refyne for one area and Restylane-L for another, tailoring the treatment to individual needs.

Restylane Defyne

Sometimes, our Nasolabial folds and Marionette lines can extend beyond the nose and mouth to the chin. Severe wrinkling can also cause your chin to appear shrunken or retracted. Restylane Defyne focuses on the lower face and can significantly improve wrinkles and augment the chin. When patients use Defyne, there’s an over 90% satisfaction rate with the chin augmentation.

Cheeks

Patient was treated with 0.5 mL Restylane® Lyft in each cheek, and 1 mL Restylane® Lyft in each nasolabial fold.

Four weeks after treatment. Individual results may vary.

Chin

Patient was treated with 3mL of Restylane Defyne in the chin.

One week after treatment. Individual results may vary.

Restylane Lyft is for smoother hands

The aging process and environmental factors can impact more than just our facial appearance. Our hands are also susceptible to these effects, often exhibiting signs of weathering, increased visibility of veins, and diminished radiance. Restylane Lyft, the initial FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler for both facial and dorsal hand applications, offers a solution. Through precise filler injections, it's possible to diminish hand wrinkles, rejuvenating their appearance and imparting a more youthful look. Additionally, your dermatologist can employ Restylane Lyft on your facial areas, effectively addressing wrinkles and laugh lines.

Restylane Silk and Restylane Kysse are Lip Fillers

Don't forget to show some love to your lips! Restylane Silk is the ideal solution for addressing those perioral lines (wrinkles around the lips) and can enhance the volume of the lips themselves. While Silk shares the same ingredients as Restylane-L, it's uniquely crafted to provide long-lasting results in the lips.

Introducing Restylane Kysse, the latest addition to the lineup, FDA-approved in May 2020. This lip filler is expertly designed to enhance not only the volume of your lips but also their texture and color. Restylane Kysse offers a year of lasting beauty and is in high demand. With its innovative XpresHAn Technology™, it focuses on creating natural-looking lips that maintain their allure even during various expressions, all while requiring less filler compared to its competitors. Here in Miami Primary we love Restylane Kysse!

Nasolabial Folds

Patient was treated with 1.5 mL Restylane® Lyft in each cheek, and 1.5 mL Restylane® Lyft in each nasolabial fold.

Two weeks after treatment. Individual results may vary.

Lips and Lip Lines

Patient was treated with 0.75 mL of Restylane Kysse in the lips.

Day of treatment. Individual results may vary.

What to expect before, during, and after Restylane fillers?

If you're all set for your filler appointment at Miami Primary Health Wellness and Aesthetics, rest assured that  our professional staff will ensure a seamless and comfortable experience. Typically, the Restylane process kicks off with an initial consultation led by Dr. Olga Ratmansky, DNP.

During this consultation, you'll have the opportunity to openly discuss any specific areas of concern, gain insights into the potential benefits, and address any questions or reservations you might have.

Dr. Olga will inquire about your comprehensive medical history and your current medication regimen. If you're generally in good health with no severe known allergies, you're likely an excellent candidate!

As a precaution, expectant or breastfeeding mothers are advised to postpone their injectable treatment. If you have any skin issues such as sores, cysts, rashes, or ongoing skin infections, it's recommended to address these prior to considering fillers.

Dr. Olga will precisely mark the areas of concern, discuss the particular type of Restylane treatment, determine the required units, and then schedule the procedure, ensuring a well-organized process.

During the procedure

During the week preceding your appointment, it's advisable to steer clear of alcohol since it can impede the healing process. A typical Restylane session typically lasts around 30 minutes, making it convenient to schedule during lunch hours. In Miami Primary Office we may offer a numbing agent, but it's worth noting that many brands, including Restylane-L, already incorporate Lidocaine, a numbing agent, directly into the filler formulation. Depending on the specific areas being treated, Dr. Olga will administer one or more syringes of filler beneath your skin.

After your Restylane treatment

After the Restylane is administered, our nurse will monitor you for a few minutes to ensure there are no immediate adverse reactions. It's not uncommon to experience mild bleeding, bruising, and swelling. It may take up to two weeks for the filler to fully settle. During this time, you'll notice substantial improvements in the reduction of wrinkles, folds, and overall appearance.

Your responsibility over the following two weeks is to address any potential side effects as they arise. Over the course of several months, the filler will gradually diminish. It's advisable to arrange a follow-up appointment, ideally 4 to 6 months after your initial treatment, to maintain and optimize your results.

How long do Restylane fillers last?

The duration of filler results is a top concern for our patients, as they seek a lasting return on their investment.

What sets Restylane products apart is their impressive longevity, although the exact duration can vary. When administered correctly, Restylane typically delivers results lasting between 6 to 12 months. It's important to note that the duration may be shorter for some individuals and longer for others. Lip fillers, in particular, tend to maintain their effects for approximately six months.

Several factors influence the longevity of fillers, including the injection site and the quantity of filler administered. The body gradually metabolizes the hyaluronic acid, contributing to this variability. To maximize the longevity of your filler, you must to adhere to a skincare routine recommended by Dr. Olga.
